Job Rejection
welcome to my first post of "Life after University SUCKS !!”if you are like me a 20 something trying to find work or possibilities to actually have a career in the future and getting nowhere you may be able to relate to what I am writing about and feeling.
We hear that is a shortage of nurses, teachers, and other professions from the government and that there are lots of different ways to get a job and the government can help you achieve your goal or a career when in reality there isn't.
You tell me Teresa May where I can get a job with my skill set and qualifications that will guarantee I get the position and I will always vote conservative forever because I can't find anything.
Job Rejection
I have just received another rejection from the course that so badly wanted to get on to further my education to get a job I want and what was the reason you ask why didn't get it?
well, you tell me I have no idea there was no feedback.
How am I supposed to get on with my life find a career without feedback?
I have applied for over 150 jobs and not so much as a word back to say why I didn't get them, WHY WHY WHY?
you can have all the qualifications you want and meet the entry requirements and more and yet jobs still want one thing EXPERIENCE !!!
Ahh yes that word that makes no sense to me anymore, how you can ask me for experience when you are not offering me the chance to gain some experience !!!!
your job I applied for
asked for essentials:
- A degree - check got that
- 5 GCSEs A- C - check got 11 of them
- A- Levels- check got 3 of them
- attributes like Listening and Problem solver- Check - got some examples of them
And yet the one thing you didn't ask for is experience and now I have to have some!!
why don't you put that in the ad in the first place or better still give me an interview or trail period to see actually that I am not just a piece of paper I am a person with feelings!
did you know:
- "Millions of young people continue to struggle to find work with global youth unemployment set to rise further"
- "one in four of those eligible to work – currently looking for a job. "
- "the tragic prospect of a lost, doomed generation."
the Guardian. (2018). Young people + Unemployment and employment statistics | Society | The Guardian.
I believe we all want to be able to develop a successful career and contribute to the economy and make this society we live in better. But right now we can't make our contribution because society is not helping us. our generation is said to be the "lost, doomed generation."
we need help from employers and the government, we are the future and they are neglecting us we deserve better.
if there is a lack of jobs out there I know a great idea for a job that every single company will need, it is an ingenious idea I don't why nobody has ever thought of it.Let's create a position called a feedback assistant, so then companies cant use the excuse "we don't have the resources to give you feedback at the stage" with this position they can. what does this role entail I hear ask well :
giving feedback to all applicants on why they are not successful so maybe they can improve so maybe next time a job comes up they get it.
I wonder why nobody has thought of this before because they see the majority they don't see the effect of having no feedback and no responses does to a person. It is depressing demoralizing and downright rude. how can we expect young people to go out into the world and find their own career if we are struggling now what is it going to be like in the future for them?
I am fed up with hearing words like;
- unsuccessful
- unfortunately
- on this occasion, it is no
- due to the high volume of applicants
- lack of experiment
I want to hear words like ;
- successful
- fortunately
- on this occasion, it is a yes
- you stood out
- we are willing to give you the experience
we all need a chance in life and us millennials are not being given an opportunity and it is crap!
what do we have to do to be heard:
- strike
- protest
but you don't like it when do that do you, Teresa. Therefore, how about giving us a chance treat us like individuals and not think about what the majority want.
hope you can relate if so get in touch I want to hear that I am not alone we need to be united together.
that's all for now
next post in one weeks time
